Build Your Own Fundraising Web Page

Planning your own fundraising project is a great way to help children in Africa impacted by AIDS and it can be a lot of fun. There are lots of ways to raise funds. Our free i care 2 kit has many ideas and tips. Check it out and request one if you don’t have a kit.

Building your own fundraising page is a great way to tell others about your event and get their support.  You can:

  • Announce your project or event to raise money to help African kids orphaned by AIDS.
  • Have a way for people you know to support your fundraiser no matter where they live by giving online
  • Set a goal and keep track of the total amount you've raised

Look at some of the sample pages that others have created. Then, log-in to create your own fundraising page.  Once you’ve created your page, you can then send this link to people you know and ask them to donate to your cause

Building your fundraising page is really easy!  Here are a few steps.

1. Pick and plan a fundraiser for you or your group.

  • You could have an event (like a garage sale, bake sale, sports tournament, karaoke contest, etc.).
  • It could be something easy like a loose change drive, collection at church, dress-down day at a private school, sell snacks at a school event, adding $1 to ticket sales for a concert or school play, etc.
  • Your club or group could do a service project (like yard work, chores, or babysitting).  Then send the money you collect to KC4K.
  • Or you could do an online fundraiser where you set up your own web page and ask people you know to help support you, sponsor you to run in a race, etc.

2. If you want to have an online web page as part of your fundraiser, log-in to create your account.

3. When you log in, you’ll go to a form, which will help you build your fundraising page.  Whatever you type in there will appear on your web page.  Here’s what you’ll do and some tips.

  • Come up with a TITLE for your fundraiser (such as KC4K Car Wash, Ted’s Awesome Fundraiser, Girls on the Go 5K for KC4K,  Mary’s Gigantic Garage Sale, Mike’s Marathon for KC4K,  etc.).  Keep your title from 3 to 7 words.
  • DESCRIBE your fundraiser or write a short message about what you are doing and why.  Here are three examples – but use your own words and keep it short:

  • The National Honor Society at X high school is sponsoring a car wash to raise money for an awesome organization to support – Kids Caring 4 Kids.  The money will go help provide African kids orphaned by AIDS with food, shelter, education, clean water, and more.  Help us and these kids by getting your car washed. Or you can donate below to help us meet our goal.  Thanks!
  • I heard about an amazing girl named Kendall Ciesemier who started an organization called Kids Caring 4 Kids.  KC4K is all about bringing hope and care to children in Africa impacted by AIDS.  I want to do something to help, so my friends and I are having a garage sale and giving the money to KC4C. Please come!  If you can’t, you can make a contribution below to help me reach my goal. See what KC4K is all about at www.kidscaring4kids.org. Thanks!
  • I’m running my first 5K on (date) and I’ve decided to run for a cause. Kids Caring 4 Kids is doing amazing work with AIDS orphans in Africa.  Go to their website and meet Kendall Ciesemier. She’s inspiring thousands of students like me to help make these kids lives better. You can give online below. Thanks!

  • If you are having an EVENT, list the date, location, time, etc. where it says event.  If you are NOT having an event, you can leave that blank.
  • Upload a PHOTO.  This can be a photo of you, your group, something local so your friends associate the fund raiser with you or your group.
  • Set a GOAL of how much money you want to raise.

Now that you have your own page, you can share your web link with your friends and family to promote your fundraiser. For tips on promotion, click here.
